Environmental Safety and National Programmes – Nirupama Paryavaran Yojana
Nirupama Paryavaran Yojana has been working on environmental issues since 2012 with the mission of environmental justice to all. Depletion of groundwater and air pollution issues in several regions was the starting point for us, which then led to VSS intervening in all of the environmental problems. Although the program is based in north India and has done extensive work in this region, the work has had far reaching outcomes across the country.
Our focus areas are:
• Water conservation, rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharging, power plants, water intensive industries, conservation of ponds and wetlands.
• Illegal cutting of trees, plantation, sand mining, river conservation, implementation of environmental laws, wildlife, agricultural waste/crop burning.
• Sanitation, health and mobile tower radiation.
• Sustainable agricultural practices, organic farming, chemical-free farming.
• Awareness and education on environmental issues.
• Corporate Social Responsibility.
Engagements:
• Spreading awareness among people for environmental protection.
• To stop deforestation and to plant trees to compensate for the damage caused by industrial development.
• To clean the rivers to provide clean drinking water to the people.
• To pay attention to the cleanliness and care of the districts and the Ganga and other rivers by joining the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ and ‘Ganga
Action Plan’ run by the Government of India.
• To make people aware in villages about the conservation of water, electricity and environment.
